Wordless Wednesday

From the looks of those chucky (breastfed) legs and that silly little smile, i think it's safe to say she's a loved little baby.

These boot are gonna walk all over you

Great, fantastic... I JUST got use to her crawling, NOW we want to encourage her to walk? I mean she's already pulling up, or rather pulling down all her friends at school because she wants to stand. Now we want her to use them as her walking post? Awesome!

So my Mom REALLY wanted to get Kinsley a walking toy for her house and I thought this would be cool because I didn't think it would really be used yet since well, Kinsley walking isn't that stable... in other words, the walker rolls and Kinsley doesn't, yet she keeps holding on so that equals splat.

BUT it turns out walkers on carpet (our main floor is hardwood) actually kinda works! And once she got the hang of it we were doing laps! She even made it work on non-carpet floors, her legs just had to learn how to run, lol.

Here's the sassy girl now!

Oops we fell, hee hee. That's her stuborn "I'll show you" face.

"talk to the ruffles"

Yep it's a winner... this toy was SUPPOSED to be a Sasha's House toy but yep, it's in the back of the truck with everything else we're taking back!

Uncle Seph

It's fare to say that my brother LOVES my daughter and she just adores him right back. Seph left the thrift store with a pair of fairy wings for Kinsley's dress up chest (also another post) and since Kinsley was already matching so well we decided that she should enhance the outfit with her new wings! (Notice the ever present baby doll)My brother and I are goofy, silly, and i like to think, just fun and well regardless of what others think (that maybe we should be medicated and placed in a padded cell) Kinsley thinks her Uncle Seph and just wonderful. So since he's so wonderful she decided she would share her doll with him!

I would saw that there might be a fairy in Kinsley future if her other costume doens't work out!

Sasha!

Sasha is my mom and Kinsley's grandmother. My mom did NOT want the term GRANDmother or Granny anywhere near her presence. So when i term needed to be used to tell Kinsley who she is going to visit Sasha was decided upon since 1. my mother's sister used to call her that when they were little because she couldn't say Marsha and 2. it's Russian for Grandmother... you know since we're NOT Russian... hmm anyway... Sasha it is. And Kinsley loves her Sasha.
This picture was was between Kinsley crawling all over her and eating my Mom's face. Delicious fun!

Visiting NC and NOT for a wedding!

So Chris and I set out on the road last night to visit my family for this holiday weekend. We left at 5:15 for our seven hour journey and when at 10pm we were still around four hours away we decided it was time to stop at a hotel, we just didn't have four more hours on the road in us after a week of sick baby and work. So slept we did.

Got back on the road and tried it again in the morning. This time (was it because i was driving???) we were much more successful and it only took 3 1/2 hours... yeah i was driving and i wasn't REALLY speeding.

Well my parents (and brother) were very happy to see us and took Kinsley shopping almost right away! We went to a local thrift shop to get her a sweater (since even in the middle of the dead heat of summer their house is like ice fishing in Minnesota) and well, we came away with so much more! I scored a few cute pieces of clothing (to be displayed later on here) AND my Dad got this pretty awesome rocking horse! We also went to Toys R Us to get her a baby but that's a different blog.

Now in the pictures below you are NOT allowed to judge my child's attire since i'm trying to bundle her in anything that i can find to keep her limbs from falling off in frost bite.
Yea haw!
"Did you know my horsey neighs and swishes his tail?"

I really didn't think this horse would be a hit yet, maybe more when she was well, walking? But no, she loves it now. Get that thing to neighing and she pulls up onto it and tried to lift that little leg but well i guess that little leg isn't so little anymore. She's 18 pounds now! OOOh yea.

Well anyway more to come from the adventures in North Carolina!

Guest Blogger Thursday: Mr. Mom!

I LOVE this guest blogger as his place in life is near and dear to me. He is a stay at home DAD! How cool is that! Some of you might know that my own Dad was a Stay At Home Dad too! He stayed home with my brother and i until i was almost in Kindergarten. It was AWESOME! He made the neighborhood blueberry pancakes, built us a fort on telephone polls (meaning, HUGE), and just had fun with us. Many children rarely get to see their Dad's so how lucky were we and how lucky is Liam?!?!

So I just KNEW that i had to have Nils guest post on here, so i hope ya'll enjoy and be sure to check out his Blog Being Mr. Mom!

The Power of Sleep
A week ago I was more than tired from taking care of our little tooth factory. My wife was home from work for a few days and told me after we put the little guy to bed, that I should go to sleep too. This was before 8pm and very unusual for me to go to bed that early. Usually we would get stuff done after our son goes to bed between 7 and 8.
I actually took my better half's suggestion and went straight to bed...
The best part of it all was, that my wonderful wife let me sleep in the next morning! Oh heaven...
I was so damn tired that I didn't even wake up at the "usual" time my little man gets up.
So I slept about 12 hours and after I had breakfast I was still tired. Or maybe tired again?
Believe it or not, I went back to bed and slept 2 more hours! WOW! This was new and so needed...
After all that sleep and a hot shower I felt like NEW! I haven't felt like this in a long, long time.
And I still feel the positive effects today!

My wife is gone for days in a row due to her job, what puts me in 24/7 mode at these days. It's especially stressfull when the little man is teething (which he has been doing for the last 8 months). He has exactly as many teeth as month he is old. 14... What can I say?

We always put our little man first and my wife and I are a great team. "What's gonna work? Team work!" ;-) But everyone needs a break every once in a while and we need to remind ourselves to take it! It's really important and so refreshing and helpful for the days to come.

I love being a Dad and everything what comes with it! :-) Sometimes we just need a little rest, or a little bit more sleep (if possible of course! I know!), or just a break from it all to function, "normally".

Ok everybody, get some sleep, so you can enjoy your family refreshed...
