8 Months, Make it stop!

She's 8 months (official 8 month photos coming soon). Where did the time go? That means in 4 measly little months she'll be a YEAR OLD! NO!

Well she's really been a growing and a shakin lately.

First of all, Kinsley Pulls up to standing now. She gets very upset when there's nothing to pull up on, so she'll straighten her legs with hands on the floor (think downward facing dog yoga pose) and fusses because there's nothing to pull her the rest of the way up. Very comical, i'll have to get a video for ya'll!

Last night I used the good ole remote as motivation... Worked like a charm.

Dang, she caught me!
Where did it go? I just threw it on the ground!
YEA! Got it back!
See the babylegs, GREAT for crawling around on our hard floors!

Also Kinsley knows the meaning of NO! She's been making it VERY difficult to change her diaper and clothes lately. She's always trying to roll over, etc. So last night getting ready for bed I couldn't even get her diaper on, so I twisted her back onto her back (for like the 2,893,470 time) and said "No Kinsley! Stop!" in a very firm voice. She just stared at me like I had snakes on my head! Lol. She stayed through the diaper and the pants and then started up again with twisting. Again I said firmly "No!" (not yell, just firm) and she laid back down until I was done.

I rewarded her with her glow worm and kisses and hugs.

She's getting TOO big! I'm not ready for this! All this disciplining and crap is for the birds, lol

Silly Husband, Babies need Carseats!

This is my beautiful daughter in her carseat.

This is what she's supposed to be in when she's in a car. Well on Sunday when my Sexy Northern Cowboy, father to my child, picked us up at the airport he didn't have this carseat.

See it WAS In his Mom's car when we were dropped off at the airport on Friday. Then NC picked it up from his Mom's house. Then he left it in his truck while he picked up his ladies in my car. So no carseat.

Some people would just wait for him to go home to get it... but we live 45mins away from the airport IF he doesn't hit ANY traffic (not likely in DC). AND Kinsley and i were already waiting around in the airport for him to arrive for an hour since i told him the wrong time to pick us up. So rather then waiting, we pulled a Britney...

NO NOT THAT!
This:

Or a version of that with Chris hold her in the backseat while i drive like a grandma on a Sunday and prayed that everything would be okay.

It was... but OH how i NEVER want to do that again.

BlogHer

So do you know what that is? It's an event/conference for women bloggers to get together and learn/bond/network with each other.
It is NOT cheap to attend and a good many of the women attending are being "sponsored". I am not a popular enough blog to be sponsored AND I do not have a huge bank account to sponsor me to attend~

BUT i would LOVE to! I read all of these amazing women's blogs and i would LOVE the chance to meet some of them in person because i know that we're just a hand shake away from becoming best internet stalking friends!

Sadly i will not be attending BUT i will be apart of this great idea that Mommyfriend has set up with her internet bestie. It's a BlogHer pity party! YEA!

Here's the details!

Simply rant about missing out on the hottest blogging conference this year.

Tell us why you are not going, what you will miss most or maybe NOT miss at the conference – write your post and come back to link up.

The idea is to hop around, get to know the other bloggers, leave them comments and have a little fun! Maybe by sharing our stories and banding together we will all feel a little better about not attending Blogher.

What I'll miss about BlogHer '10
1. Meeting all of these amazing women that i read about daily
2. Getting to hang with the girls!
3. Getting to go shopping for this amazing event
4. Networking with these women and getting tips and encouragement
5. Meeting Companies that i could possibly network with!

What I WON'T miss about BlogHer '10
1. Having to pack and then unpack
2. Having to leave my sweet little girl behind
3. Having to pump ALL weekend
4. Being the new girl
5. Telling people about my blog, that is really not anywhere NEAR their status level.

So there you have it... join the BlogHer pity party with us!

Do you want to know what i did this past weekend???

I flew to Portland Oregon. Yeah that's ALL the way across the county. It's a 5 1/2 hour flight. And guess what else I did? Yep I took Kinsley with me... alone... no Chris to help me. Oh and guess what else i did? Flew back on Sunday. Yep Friday night to Sunday morning, cross country, that's how we roll at our house.

Kinsley really did an amazing job of being a good girl the whole time. I was so proud to call her my baby. I was just waiting for her to scream on the plane so i could ask the nearest passenger why they gave me their baby to hold, but luckily i didn't have to pawn her off like some cheap jewelry.

Once we arrived in Portland at 8:45pm (11:45pm EST) we got our luggage and then our rental car. I rented an infant carseat with the car, which the kind people at Avis allowed me to install all by myself. At night. With a sleepy infant. ALONE! So after fighting with the piece of crap for over 10mins (much to Kinsley's amusement) we were on our way! We checked into the hotel around 10:30pm (130am EST) waited for them to bring up the pack n play i had requested. And then went to bed. Or rather, i tried to put Kinsley into the PNP and she would have none of it and so i let her sleep with me... oh joy.

So we woke up around 7am. Took a bath together, got ready together, pried a door stopper out of her mouth and we went to breakfast.

Kinsley enjoyed puffs while i enjoyed a sausage, egg, and cheese Assiago bagel!
Oh and did i mention it was chilly outside? Felt SOOOO good! And Kinsley got to sport some cute gear!
Well after we ate we headed off the Children's Museum. It was so much fun! Kinsley loved it and loved the other kids! (I'll have to post pics later, i had forgotten my camera so i bought a disposable one and will get the pics loaded onto a disc soon).

Her favorite exhibit was the water one... but she loved tasting the clay in the clay room too! I thought it was cute all the clay she got on her pants to make her look like her Daddy after work!
Then we did some shopping, tried unsuccessfully to get Kinsley to take a nap, and headed over to Anna's house to hang out before the wedding!

Kinsley LOVES an audience and these ladies complied!

Yea Aunt Anna! You look so pretty!

Kinsley was even so nice to share her bows with the other babies that attended the wedding!

So after too short of a nap, off the wedding we went!

Anna looked incredible and it was a beautiful ceremony!
Afterwards we went to the reception where Kinsley finally decided she was done and ready to go to bed. So i hushed her to sleep (no i'm not breastfeeding her in this picture (even though i'm not above that... i'm just not) took a quick pic with my old roomies and grabbed my to go box of dinner and went back to the hotel with my little booger.
We went to bed, woke up at 4am and got our act together and went to the airport. Kinsley wasn't AS good as she was on the way there but we still got compliments from other passengers about how good she was so i was happy.

All in all, Am i crazy for flying across the country, alone, with an infant, for a weekend? Yes. Was it worth it and would i do it again for Anna? in a heart beat!

Are you a spanker?

Disciplining our children.

PS i'm a hot mess in this video because i came home at 11pm (already VERY late for me) to Kinsley crying, she wouldn't stop so i finally brought her to bed with us. And therefore i didn't sleep well... wonderful!
Going to crawl under my desk now to sleep!

Poop and the tide pen

Well it was one of those mornings. It was SOOO hard to get out of bed. I REALLY didn't want to but I had to so I did.

Then I got ready... I got K ready... and we were late.

So i plop her on the floor while I finish getting her bottles, etc together and i hear grunting. I turn to look and see what's going on and it's the poop.

She's bending over grunting and pooping all up her diaper. I go to change her and yep... there's a little line on her shirt. UH! Are you serious!?!? i don't have time to change her clothes! It's no small feat to change this child's clothes now with how much she twist and turns and kicks and pulls, etc.
So I take a moment and thinking over while i'm putting her new diaper on and think "You know Erin, your tide pen has gotten out blood before, SURELY it can get out a little poop"! So i put her back together and get the tide pen and you know what? Worked perfectly.

Now don't get me wrong... if it was a big back covering spot i wouldn't have tired the tide pen, we would have changed. AND if i would have had more time i would have changed her. BUT i was already running late and it was only a tiny little bit soo... WHATEVER! Don't judge me!
