Well i definitely look pregnant (thank God!) now... goodbye to that in between stage where everyone looks at you like you MIGHT be but they don't want to assume because if they say something and you're not then they might as well make their own "not smart" commercial. I'm getting belly rubs left and right and loving every minute of it. Some people are weird about other touching their belly but i LOVE it. It makes me feel pregnant and not fat plus i know they all just want to love on this little miracle in me, which is fine with me!
So where are we at today???
Yep we're a Mango, my dad would be so happy... he LOVES mangoes. Obcessed i think is a better description. lol.
So on to the stats: Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature (umm please no)...Babylove's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you (Yeah i explained this to Chris last night that baby can hear and needs to hear his voice so that she knows who her daddy is... so he burped). Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting.
SOOOO that's it... except that later today we'll find out (if this little turd will cooperate) if it's a boy or girl!!! We're having an anatomy scan today so they will take their time and do a nice looong appointment and hopefully not give up... i've also got a diet coke WITH the caffeine and 3 cookies to eat in hopes it will get him/her moving this time!
