FINALLY a good night!

We finally had a night where i didn't want to dig my eyes out with a spoon! I almost felt like dancing or cleaning... but lets be real... I wasn't going to clean.

I picked the cuties up from school where they were both in good spirits. The Little's room didn't give him dinner yet so I was bracing myself for a long horrible night. (He gets fed dinner at school because if he waits to have it at home, but the time its ready, etc then he's screaming and spitting at me) We got home and spider monkey actually let me put him down and DO stuff! So I got him and his sister a nice healthy dinner of boxed mac and cheese made (generic of course!)! I also threw in a few green beans so that I felt like a rock star Mom.

The kid ate it and didn't spit on me so I kept rolling with this abnormally good mood of his! I worked on the main meal for Northern Cowboy and myself (pork loin that was actually flank steak so we had fajitas... long story, not interesting). Then I threw the kids in a diaper.com box and it was a straight giggle fest! Boxes... who knew (oh yeah every parent in the universe).

Next I threw him in a bath and then we started his breathing treatment while big girl shit her pants... for the second time that day... what was happening I don't know but she would get a look of terror on her face run for the bathroom and I guess not make it and BAM turd in pants. She hasn't done that in months! oh well.. bath for too anyway

So now kids are clean, Parker is all meded up with his nebulizer and in walks the hubs. We put the son to bed and head downstairs with Sassy pants to watch some Care Bears. Then she goes to bed, WITHOUT A PROBLEM and I go downstairs to mark this day on the calender so that I'm reminded it happened!

I mean after the weeks we've been having, that shit blew my mind!

Then this morning at 5am Sassy Pants wakes up crying so i go into her room to see what Monster needs an ass whooping and she says through tears "I'm having a hard time, I want to lay in your bed"... OMG yes my sweet angel child come with Momma!

On the way to school we were having a random blizzard that dumped over an inch of snow on us in like 30mins and I asked her where all this snow came from "It's from Santa Momma! I think he thinks we miss it!"

Spanking...

Why is there such a stigma with spanking our children? Should it be the first and go to method of discipline? No. Is it abuse? No.

Honestly I think that's part of what is wrong with kids and now adults these days. Parents who are checked out and not involved and lack of discipline.

I'm sorry but if my three year old is throwing things and screaming because she wants to watch more Mickey Mouse Club House, a hug is not going to get the point across that this behavior is not acceptable. AND putting her in time out is not going to do anything either because frankly she's past the point of a time out helping.

Now, sometimes i will make her go sit in her room until she can "function" nicely and not scream. But, I also don't have that option at a restaurant... so you know what... when she's not behaving nicely I have no problem taking her out to the car or the restroom and popping her behind to "remind" her that there is a consequence for her actions.

One of my good friends made a great point to me that hands are for love, so they have a naughty spoon. That spoon is used to give a spanking. This has the child associating the discipline on that spoon, not your hands. I love this idea. I've asked Kinsley a few times "Do i need to get the spoon?"... guess what, I've NEVER used it!

I'm not above trying everything under the sun to prevent getting to a level of needing to spank. Last night we started a new reward system that the same friend told me about. Kinsley gets marbles for good listening, good behavior, and obeying Mommy the first time. She gets a marble for going to bed nicely and not throwing a tantrum in the mornings. She will get a marble if she's good at school and she uses her manners. But she will lose marbles for not doing these things. If I ask her to go upstairs for a bath and she melts down, goodbye marble. Does she refuse to take one bite of her vegetables? Goodbye marble. Once she gets to 30 marbles then she gets to do something fun with me, like go and get her nails done! SHE LOVES this idea!

But despite the amazing marble idea, sometimes it doesn't matter and a spanking is the only thing that will snap this kid around.

I'm just not sure I'm any good at this...

whole Mom thing. I love my kids I do, but I tell you what, three year olds will BREAK YOU!

Three is two with a purpose and that purpose is evil. It is tantrum throwing, opinion yelling, bipolar mood swinging evil. It makes me want to curl up in the fetal position and beg for mercy.

My daughter has very strong opinions about what she wears each day... fine, pick our you're own clothes, I don't care. Until she picks the out and STILL throws a fit every morning because she doesn't like what she picked out... OMG

I tell my daughter that after Mickey it's time to go to bed. I give her warnings like every 5 minutes... Mickey's over, time to go to bed. Enter epic meltdown that involves screaming for every family member she can think of...

I make an amazing dinner with all of her favorite foods and she informs me she doesn't like any of it, so then my Mother-in-law gives her dinner on another night of food that i wouldn't be able to force feed her and she happily eats every bite... OMG

I finally get demon spawn into bed after giving up on her crawling into bed and just throwing her into it and for the next hour she is screaming my name and on the few times I do respond she says things like "I want water" "I need you to spray for Monsters" "I just love this face" "I miss you Momma"... OMG

I come up with a great activity for painting (that she loves) but then have to end it because she wants to paint my table so we have a royal screaming melt down... OMG

Her 1 year old little brother touched her toy... OMG

I feel like I've tried most things and all I do is yell. Not to mention that my one year old follows me around like a little puppy crying until I pick him up ALL THE TIME! I've never been able to just walk around my house and do things without my one year losing his shit every time I make a move to get out of the chair. I am strapped to one place unless I want all children in my life to lose their shit... but now I'm losing my shit. WTH!

I want to be a good Mom. I want to be an organized Mom. I want to be a fit, healthy, and skinny Mom... BUT WHEN CAN I DO ALL OF THIS?!?!?

Here's my daily schedule.

515 Wake up, get ready, get the kids ready blah blah blah
630 Leave the house get the kids to daycare and commute to work
730-400 work
500 Pick up kids from daycare
530 and on into the evening Get home, feed the dogs, take them out, get dinner going, give baths, give Parker a breathing treatment, have Parker in bed by 630, have Kinsley in bed by 730.

SO around 730-8 I'm finally free, but there is always a kitchen to clean, laundry to switch, or lets be honest... DVR to catch up on...

I have to pick the kids up by 600pm from daycare... I hate to leave them there that long... I already have daycare feed Parker dinner because by the time i get him and get him home, etc... he won't eat, he just wants a bottle and bed.

So when is my ME time? at 8pm? Who wants to get their sweat on at 8pm? Not to mention I would have to do a video or something equally retarded. And that would mean cutting in on the hubs TV time then too...

SO I need to workout on my lunch hour... which doesn't always (or lately ever) happen.

I'm so tired of three. I'm so tired of a son that has to be ON MY HIP at ALL TIMES.

I'm just freaking tired.

But at least I've lost 2lbs!

My friend has mad skill!

So I had one of my friends come over to take some pictures of us for K's 3 years, Parker's 1 year, and well just family shots in general. She's starting to play with photography and would like to start a business/ make some money on the side and well I LOVE the pics she took... one that I love the most I messed up and can't fix it so i've asked her to re-mail it to me and then I'll post it... but until then check out these beauties!

My little cheeser!

We did some outside pics but it was really foggy and drizzling, but I think that added a really cool element to the pics!

Our family boot pic... to be taken yearly~

Love this shot of Parks eating his cake...

Not sure how the first birthday is going to go though...

At least we know clean up will be a breeze!

Yes Parker, I have put your cute little old man butt on the internet for all the world to see! LOVE!

Like I said, she loves her brother, agressivly so...

This might be an out-take to some but well... this is us really... me holding Parker while trying to get Kinsley to cooperate... do you see her face?

And the hubs keeps asking me if i want more kids? Our hands are full... think i'm done!

Think she doesn't have him wrapped up?

Not bad! I think Jackie is our new photographer!

So if you live in the area and want an up and coming photographer shoot me an email and i'll pass along her info to you!

***update, here is my favorite!***

resolutions? what the hell

I mean Why not do it right? It's FUN to look back and see what a failure you've been! So Let jump on the bandwagon shall we?

1. Find a church... since we haven't been trying maybe i should say start trying to find a church but hell heck, it's a whole year let find THE ONE!

2. Go on a spending diet. The hubs has been telling me for a while that if we did allowances that I wouldn't even get that because I've got to stop spending but I didn't get it until now. We aren't in debt, we just aren't saving, because of me... so enter the year of no frivolous spending!

3. Lose 40lbs. Yup that's a big number but hell heck, we're accomplishing a lot of big this year!

4. Have my family eat more clean and less processed. because that's easy and takes no extra time right?

5. Decorate my house creatively... since we're going to do #2 it's going to have to be REALLY creative! hmmmm

And I'm going to stop now while I'm still behind. Are you committing to anything? Want to help me accomplish mine?

Reclaiming the boobies

I am officially done with breastfeeding. Last Wednesday I pumped for the last time. I had been weaning for a while... Parker has been off the literally boob for a few weeks, but I've been pacing out my pumps to avoid engorgement.

Now, it is done. The boobies are mine again. Along with the extra weight of not breastfeeding.

Did you know you can burn an average of 500 calories a day if you exclusively breastfeed? Yup now I have to take that into account along with all of my other over eating issues and cut back even more... yea.

I know what you're thinking... OMG ERIN he's not one year yet!?!??! You were SOO close!... never fear dear blogy friends, I have a stash. The stash in my basement is quite extensive and well... he will most likely go PAST his first birthday with breast milk still in supply!

But now, the boobies are mine again and well, I REALLY have no excuses to not lose weight since I don't need to eat fatty yummy calories to keep up my supply. Now I just need to lose weight and be the best Mommy I can be for my babies!
