And Kinsley Space

She has decided that she needs more so i'm spreading out...

Yep that's my little chunker in there! Isn't she cute!
How far along? 21 weeks 1 day

Baby's weight: She's somewhere over a pound, i'll let you know on the 11th what she's weighing in at.

Maternity Clothes? yeah it's getting to the point now where even my sleep clothes don't fit.

Stretch Marks? no

Sleep? yeah right. belly is starting to get heavy and even though i try to support it, it's hard to get comfortable.

Best moment this week: Returning from Barbados and having everyone at work tell me Kinsley's grown

Movement? ALL the time! I think this is because i eat lots of little meals through the day and she likes to move after i eat so she's ALWAYS moving, can't wait for Chris to feel her!

Food Cravings: burgers, burgers, and Mexican! lol! Yes... still this

Gender: GIRL!

Labor Signs: no

Belly Button in or out? In but getting to be a very wide valley!

What I miss: being able to just pop up from the couch.

What I am looking forward to: Seeing friends who haven't seen me since i popped

Weekly Wisdom: eat when you're hungry, or you might kill someone.
Milestones: Being half way!

Resort action...

So while we were staying in Barbados my parents booked us all at a 5 Star hotel called The Crane. Go to their website, it's amazing... here's some of the photos they have...

yeah that's some of the pools, they really do look that awesome, and more...

Yep that's their cliffs, really that breath taking...

oh yeah, and their own private pink (i swear when you see it, it IS pink) sand beach... private even though there are no private beach in Barbados, there is here...

So you see this place is AMAZING! Not to even mention the rooms (i'm getting there)...

So we show up to check in... UH so much for open air Caribbean... they have open air check in but i think they forgot the air, NO breezes in there! That's cool, they were VERY nice and gave each of us our own rum cake as a welcome... oh and Chris got a free rum punch (mine wasn't free b/c i wanted a virgin drink). GREAT! So off to our two bedroom suite! Breathtaking to say the least! Lets just turn that A/C and we'll be all set! move in, unpack, etc etc etc... wait, we DID turn on the A/C right? The doors are closed right? hmmm

So after spending two nights in a practical sauna (pregnancy+no A/C DO NOT= happy lady... not to mention the fact my parents were born in the arctic and my wheel chair bound grandmother spends A LOT of time in the room... so we complain and they move us... to where???

THE PENTHOUSE!!!

(these are MY personal photos)

that's the master (my) bedroom! Notice the ceilings!

Dream closet! I mean it's like a mini cribs show!

I mean you see the bathtub right? HUGE! JETTED! Off to the left is the shower, with 5 count them 5 water heads!

That's my living space, since my room is sooo small... it has a flat screen.

This is where i made my PB&J's. Yes that's basically the size of MY HOUSE!

Oh did you want a view... okay, SINCE you asked!

Oh and a private plunge pool too??? well okay.

Yeah i always wanted a nice lounging space, thanks!

Oh and here's the BEST part that i forgot to take a picture of... we have a sun deck... ON THE ROOF! Yeah it has a jetted tub and BBQ up there too... AMAZING!

So as i'm singing myself to sleep to the tune of Glamorous by Fergi... i realize something... we still have no A/C... sort of... we have it... just every other day. One day we're at 80-90 in there and the next we're at a sweet 73... go figure... living large isn't ALWAYS better.

I feel like we're taking a step backwards

B/c this week Kinsley is a

BANANA! i mean doesn't that seem smaller then a cantaloupe... i mean i know they are going for length here, i think, but really??? well whatever, what do i know, i'm only carrying the little chunker! lol

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch. (ummm wasn't this covered LAST week, right, i thought so, way to go genius fruit people)... lets see what others have to say...

You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges (this is true, i mean i just feel "pops" right now but they are ALL the time, she's VERY active, Sadie and Stella have their babysitting work cut out for them!!). You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better (yeah she likes it when i eat, when i eat there's a party in my uterus, her own private dance party, ooop oooop do the Erkle!). In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well (oh well just what i wanted to hear, can't it wait until she's 30 to form???).

Monday, July 27, 2009

Oh yea, this happened last week...

Kinsley became this! A Cantelope... except she was kind of ALREADY there since at 19wks she was weighing in at 11 oz! So there! So yeah, every time you see a fruit imagine the state fair version and that's our Kinsley!

Kinsley gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting (or to get ready for college, WHOA slow down there girl!). And, these days, those taste buds actually work (oh that's just sick!)! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch (hmm guess she'll like burgers).

So i didn't get any good side shots of me but here's a little Kinsley love for ya...

Food while traveling...

Well it's like this... when you're pregnant you NEED to eat, i mean ya have to eat even if you aren't pregnant, but when you are it's like a alien is going to come out of your abdomen and beat people over the head until they feed you... this happened to me... sort of... i may have been the ACTUAL alien but who's keeping track.

We get up at 340ish to go to the airport. I eat a PB&J around 415. Then i have a coffee (decaf!) and juice at about 6ish... then i have Burger King cinnamon sticks with my family at about 830ish....

OH SIDE NOTE: Family knows it's a GIRL! I did a little strip tease with my hoody which reviled a pink shirt underneath for them... yeah they TOTALLY thought it was a boy b/c i told them that Chris was happy with the results... hahaha

okay, back to aliens... so we're on the plane heading to Barbados and US Air thinks they are SOOO clever by not offering meals but rather offering to let you buy an over priced sandwich that most likely taste like cardboard and have a sprinkle of chips next to it... well I wasn't going to let them pull ME is (i can't tell the future folks) so i munched on a bag of Cheetos... ummm

So we get there, we're hot and ready to check into the hotel... we FINALLY do and it's hot and i'm tired and so i sleep... yeah right... sleep, with my family, when i keep getting woken up b/c random things... whatever! So then we decide we should go to dinner...

Dad decides we're going to go to some cafe place the hotel recommended... except it's AT LEAST 20 mins away and we're not completely sure WHERE it is... but guess what, despite the fact that my mother and i threaten to eat him first he ignores our pleas for just KFC and insist on finding el' cafe. Thanks... so we drive and drive... let me tell you, Barbados is not really UP TO DATE on 99% of their roads, they look like a quilt and feel like an amusement ride gone VERY wrong, NOT.FUN.

So now it's like an hour or so into our dinner journey and i'm becoming hysterical... seriously, i'm getting mean... the hungry pregnant chick is about to come for blood... so at one point my dad says something to me where i just break down in tears trying to form the words "hungry, food" etc... it was more like "i'm juuusssttt soooooooh hungr waaaah". So he jumps out of the car and saves me with a chicken leg, fries, and a biscuit. The alien has been sedated.

Oh but the journey isn't done, no one else hasn't eaten and we're still hot on the heels of el' cafe whatever. We KNOW we're hot on it's heels b/c that's what EVERY local has told us... except we didn't find out until later that if locals don't know the answer, they just make up one (little Sh!T heads, sorry it's true, they messed with a hungry pregnant woman, they're lucky i haven't said worse).

FINALLY my father decides to give up and we pull into what looks like a local pizza kind of place. We all order various things from fish, to BBQ grilled chicken (even thought they said it was fried) to pizza and salad. I ordered a Pizza and salad, not wanting to test the local food at this point but just go into a happy food coma... but no, the food gods were not smiling on my very round and angry belly... I start to eat the salad when my mom stops me b/c SINCE we're at your local foreign hole in the wall she's not so sure they are up to code with health regulations and washing the salad or hands etc after say raw meat has been around... so scratch the salad i'll eat pizza. Pepperoni pizza, easy right? please

I don't GET my pizza until EVERYONE else has gotten their meal (play to be fare my brother was waiting on one too but WHATEVER HE'S not pregnant so)... i get it and it's too hot to eat, so i'm tired and say get in the car, and i'll eat it when it cools... yeah, except i forgot about the amusement ride we were going to have to take on the way back. So 30 mins later YES i can eat... except Barbados pizza is NOT, i repeat, is NOT ANYTHING like our pizza. They use weird cheese that leaves a strange taste in your mouth and the crust is SWEET, yeah it's like a dessert pizza with goat cheese and pepperoni and marinara sauce. It's interesting to say the least... so i force one piece down and tell Kinsley to be happy she got something and go promptly to bed.

All the food wasn't bad or scary...

... but more on THAT later.

Oh world of updates...

Prepare yourself for updates galore... i've been gone... in paradise... well paradise with crappy roads, but hey, i'll let that slip by.

I have just spent the past week in BARBADOS! Oh it was warm and tropical and amazing... i mean there were some things i missed here (knowing i can eat all the food from where ever and not worrying if it's bad, and the dogs... love my doggies). So this trip will take MULTIPLE installments to FULLY explain without boring you with one LONG entry... don't worry i'll include photos!

AND off we go!

She's going to have a ROOM!

Yes it's true and i couldn't be happier! Chris's parents called last night and said they were ordering the Crib and Dresser

We're getting the crib (i know DUH) and the dresser on the right so we can have it as a changing table too! YEA!!!

And i ordered our bumper and crib skirt today so that we can use it for color matching

AND we're going to paint the walls that green and then i'm going to put up a monogram that looks similar to this

except reversed where it's white and the letter is pink! plus i'm dreaming up more pink accents and the curtains will be white and i'm thinking i love these

I just love how girly they are!!!

so what do ya'll think?

i can't wait for Kinsley to see it all!

Does anyone know Dotty??

So we had an interesting thing happen yesterday... a package was delivered... from our registry. SWEET! I LOVE gifts! Getting a package or personal letter in the mail is like GOLD to me... even when i was little i HAD to get the mail just in case there was something for me, which i knew there would be, unless it was my birthday, but whatever...

So i got a package! i open it and it's one of the nursing covers i registered for (you know the hooter hiders)... so i'm so excited to read the note to find out who doesn't want to see my new amazing rack and it's..... Dotty... hmmm who's Dotty? We'll apparently Dotty lives in Norfolk, Virginia. nice place okay... umm who is this person?

Did she pick the wrong registry?

No we're the ONLY Breedloves with a C or E first name.... hmmm

Neither set of parents know her...

hmmm...

So now i have to send a thank you to this random Dotty lady and thank her for helping me to hide my boobs.... riiight

suggestions?

Wanna see her?`

prepare yourself for a very mushy gushy post...

It's a Foot! and a profile! And a big belly! No seriously, we got a shot of JUST the belly... i think ALL my burgers are going to HER belly! lol

It's a scary alien face followed by the best profile EVER! look at that cute little nose! I can't wait to kiss it!

Despite being 5 days ahead (grow baby grow) Kinsley is shaping up to be quite the beauty! I can't wait to meet her... but i will wait... at least 20 weeks young lady!!!

Food Cravings: burgers, burgers, and Mexican! lol! Yes... still this

What I miss: at the moment nothing... on a GIRL high~

What I am looking forward to: Telling my parents the sex on Saturday when i get to see them since we're going to BARBADOS with them!!!

Weekly Wisdom: Crying+pregnancy= getting what you want... helped the doctor to keep scanning until we knew the sex!
Milestones: Picking our daughter's name Kinsley Grace

It's a GIRL!!!!

We're so excited! Kinsley Grace Breedlove! She's is SUPER healthy measuring 5 day ahead! Yeah! The doctor even asked us if large babies run in our family...well they do on Chris's side! Yikes! We got some REALLY cute shots but i left them at home so i'll have to upload them tomorrow.

So yes i've changed the look of the blog for my little Kinsley (***correction, we went back until i can figure out how to make the pink columns bigger)! But don't worry i'll post my belly for you later~

19 weeks!

Well i definitely look pregnant (thank God!) now... goodbye to that in between stage where everyone looks at you like you MIGHT be but they don't want to assume because if they say something and you're not then they might as well make their own "not smart" commercial. I'm getting belly rubs left and right and loving every minute of it. Some people are weird about other touching their belly but i LOVE it. It makes me feel pregnant and not fat plus i know they all just want to love on this little miracle in me, which is fine with me!

So where are we at today???

Yep we're a Mango, my dad would be so happy... he LOVES mangoes. Obcessed i think is a better description. lol.

So on to the stats: Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature (umm please no)...Babylove's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you (Yeah i explained this to Chris last night that baby can hear and needs to hear his voice so that she knows who her daddy is... so he burped). Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting.

SOOOO that's it... except that later today we'll find out (if this little turd will cooperate) if it's a boy or girl!!! We're having an anatomy scan today so they will take their time and do a nice looong appointment and hopefully not give up... i've also got a diet coke WITH the caffeine and 3 cookies to eat in hopes it will get him/her moving this time!

He Really is Crazy!

So it went down like this... We were supposed to go to Hershey Park this weekend for Chris's work's Family Day. They would pay for our tickets, a big lunch and parking (plus give us money towards a hotel if we wanted it, but we opted out). Well for some reason Chris just REALLY did NOT want to go to this... i mean we would only have to see his work people at lunch time so...

... so jokingly i told him we didn't have to go if he would buy me a new car this weekend. And then i sent him a link to a really great used Honda Pilot option... Yeah i know what you're thinking... he's just going to roll his eyes at his crazy wife and explain we'll get the car in September like planned and try to wiggle his way out of Hershey Park another way... NO!

He instead got on the Internet when i was taking a nap on Friday and found an even BETTER 08 Honda Pilot and asked if i wanted to go and see it... UMM YEAH! We went, we loved, so then we had to talk... was he serious, was he pulling me leg, i mean we DID go and see the car which is a big step in the right direction. So we're thinking and talking and...

.... we went the next day and bought it! Now we had to wrangle those dealers like any good cow poke would do, i mean they offered me $1000 LESS for my car then the blue book said it was worth! HELLO! SOOO once we got them in line with what we wanted everything worked out just fine!

Now i don't have my own pictures yet but here's my NEW (to me) Mommy mobile!

Notice the spoiler on the back, that's b/c i'm fly!

This is my seat, I will occasionally allow Chris to sit here, if he behaves...

Do you see what i see? Yes 3 rows of seats! And look up and you'll see where my DVD player is!

Now let me tell you a little something about Lucy (i'm testing out new names)... she, as you can see above, has 3 rows of seats! for our growing family... we figure Stella can sit by the baby and Sadie can have the whole back bench... it has a SUNROOF! and a DVD PLAYER! to entertain the dogs and i on long car trips while chris and driving and babylove is sleeping. It's 4-wheel drive for the wonderful Maryland winters. It has cloth seats, which is awesome since my Dogs have penetrating nails, AND a 6 disk CD changer (i'm going to have to update my CD collection)! Plus LOADS more! I'm soooo excited about it! Oh and it has better gas mileage then my old car! SWEET!

So there's one more thing checked off the baby checklist! There's a BIG Check to a rocking hot Mommy mobile!

Sorry

The updates have stunk this week... it's been long and bad... I'm emotionally, mentally, and physically drained. I couldn't even think of funny things to say about all the drama, i just want it to be over.

BUT aside from that baby is doing GREAT and REALLY sticking out! PLUS i had a little talk with her and explained that while i'm sure my bladder is a GREAT pillow and toy i would appreciate it if she would leave it alone at night. And guess what???? I've only gotten up ONCE the past two nights!!!!

So that goes to show you, they are NEVER too young to start disciplining. Start'em and scare'em young and your life will be so much easier when they want to do drugs!

Old Wives tails

So you'll soon learn that people LOVE to tell you what you're baby is going to be based on the old wives tails... which is REALLY annoying to me. Yeah had one lady ask me to turn around so she could see me from the back to announce it's a girl b/c when you're pregnant with a girl you carry it everywhere... well she must be pregnant with three girls! Stupid!

Sadly too everyone gets their old wives tails mixed up too... so here's a list and i'll highlight the ones that are true for me and you can be the judge...

It's a boy if:·
You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the extra weight out front ·
Your belly looks like a basketball.
Your areolas have darkened considerably ·
You are carrying low ·
You are craving salty or sour foods ·
You are craving protein -- meats and cheese ·
Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy ·
The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy ·
Your hands are very dry ·

Your pillow faces north when you sleep · (What??? i don't know)
Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you (that's just b/c my cooking has changed)
Pregnancy has you looking better then ever.
Your urine is bright yellow in color·
Your nose is spreading ·
You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves in circles · (yeah i'm not trying this)
You are having headaches ·
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number

It's a girl if:·
You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute ·
You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear ·
Your left breast is larger than your right breast ·(umm always has been)
Your hair develops Red highlights (i wouldn't know... it's dyed anyway)
You are carrying High
Your belly looks like a watermelon ·
You are craving sweets ·
You are craving fruit ·
You crave Orange Juice
You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy ·
You are moodier then usual during pregnancy
Your face breaks out more than usual ·
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread ·
Your breast have really blossomed (um no, they have just gotten heavier.. not so much bigger)
Your pillow faces south when you sleep (again i don't know)

Your urine is a dull yellow color
You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves from side to side - (too voodooy to do)
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceieved and the sum is an odd number.

Well that's 9 for boy and 7 for girl... and i didn't answer two so that's up in the air too... hmmm yeah next Tuesday can't get here fast enough!

Tired, poop, pee, and a potato

Yes those are todays topics... i was going to blog about each one seperately but i wanted to get it all out!

I'm freaking tired! i feel like it's the first trimester again... this kid is sucking out all of my lifes energy and laughing at me. Chris is at his wits end because when i'm tired i'm humorless. He doesn't understand that when he speaks, unless he's saying "what can i do for you dear?" i just want to snap his head off... first signs of my raging hormones or lack of proper sleep. All day long i am dying for bed, i'm willing to trade one of my dogs for my bed... anything to help this fatigue. But that might be a bad trade considering when i do get to sleep i can't... i sleep for an hour or two and then need to reposition... sleep for an hour or two and need to pee... once i've gotten up to pee it will be at least 30 minutes before i fall back asleep, if not longer. UH!

So onto the poop... i know, it's been a while... pooping has actually gotten better... most of the time. Yeah see there are these few occasions that come every so often where i need to poop. I hear Chariots of Fire playing in my head (dadada dadada dadada da da, dadada dadada dadada da da, dadada dadada dadada da da dada DA dada da da da) as i run to the restroom waiting for my sweet glorious moment of relief. I sit and as i start to push THE PAIN!!!! The agony! I don't know why but every so often now when i try to push i feel like my ovaries are about to do an alien move out the front of my belly! So i have to stop pushing or else i'll loose all ability to have another child since my ovaries will be on the floor. BUT AH HA... since pooping is SO important these days, i've found a solution... i hold one hand on each ovary with my fingers pushing it back in... so as i poop the pain isn't as bad and they stay put! VICTORY!

Yes i still have little tiny piddle emergencies. And now one of Chris's relatives (who would most likely tell me i'm dying if i said my toe hurt) has me all worried that i might have a urinary tract infection since i feel the need to pee like i haven't peed in days and it turns into a tiny trickle. Now this comes and goes... some times i'll go hours without having to pee... sometime all day i'll have normal pees... then i wake up come to work, waddle from the parking deck to the restroom (waddle b/c i'm hold my legs together, not because i'm that big yet, thank you very much) and as i sit for sweet relief it's piddle time not pee time. UH! So if you have experience with UTI's let me know...

And finally... what are we today being 18 weeks big???

A sweet potato! Which is okay since i actually like those now! Another site says we're about the size of a bell pepper, so your guess is as good as mine.

Babylove has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to me), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And, baby's finally big enough that you'll be able to feel those movements soon (story later about this). Baby's blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit (whoo hoo i have a Will Smith baby). A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound (he better not next week unless he wants to be grounded before he/she's even born).

Oh so about the movement

I felt more this weekend and one time was really neat... i was laying in the backseat while we were driving home from NC and Chris reached back to rub my belly and right after he did that the baby moved and it tickled me a little bit. It was funny to know baby knew daddy's hand!

Hormone levels

Well they are still low... same as before... but everything else is perfect and growing the way it should.

It's my HCG hormone. I should be average (50%) but i'm 1%. Everyone i've spoken to says this is not a big deal. If it was lower baby would have a risk of one thing. If it was higher baby would have a risk of another thing... but where it is doesn't matter. According to websites, doctors, co-workers (I work at NIH with genetics doctors) etc they all say since everything else is fine (perfect actually) there's no red flags and i don't need to worry.

This is a relief but i still worry. Will always worry i think. So just pray that i can worry less, so i stress less and that baby will be fine and healthy!

thanks!

On the upside Chris takes this as the reason i'm so mellow during this pregnancy... low hormones=happy husband! lol

I have the BEST best friend~

So my best friend Christina couldn't help herself and just HAD to get our MAYBE girl a little gift (don't worry she sent a gift receipt) and i was tickled, well pink! (hahaha, i know!). It was such a nice surprise and almost brought me to tears i was so touched! She got baby a three pack of onies (see below)... Baby said she likes the cherry one the most! And a three pack of bibs, each one says a different thing and the last one says "Gorgeous (just like my mom)".... that made me smile! I might have a little girl that looks like me (well hopefully better but...)! It was soo sweet! Oh and baby got a teether! One of those really good gel ring ones that goes in the fridge to get cold! SUPER! I have to say that was so special! Having our friends behind us, supporting us, and excited for us just makes this journey so much better!

Speaking of that, my lab is SUPER excited b/c now that baby is showing everyone wants to touch my belly and i couldn't be happier!

Just look at that cute pinkness! AWWW!
